Serving Delta, Fruita, Montrose, Palisade, Rifle & greater Colorado.
According to the 2022 Agriculture Census, there are 1,511 farms covering 187,247 acres in Delta County alone, and more than 90 percent of those farms are operated by a family or individual. Add in the ranching operations, vineyards, orchards, and ag processors spread across Mesa and Montrose counties, and you’ve got one of the most diverse and economically significant agricultural areas in Colorado.
The most productive agricultural ground in Western Colorado is concentrated in Mesa, Montrose, and Delta counties, where Palisade peaches, wineries, and berry farms abound. Delta County remains one of the most important agricultural areas in Colorado, with its 2,500 acres of orchards ranking second among all Colorado counties in sales of fruits, tree nuts, and berries.
Mesa and Delta counties are Colorado’s top producers of wine grapes, with the Grand Valley and West Elks American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) drawing national recognition. Delta County is also home to 16 wineries, five tasting rooms, three breweries, a distillery, and two hard cider producers.
All of that means a lot of hard work, investment, and risk — and it deserves insurance that’s actually designed for agriculture, not a standard commercial policy with a few livestock endorsements bolted on.
Why Standard Business Insurance Isn’t Enough For Agricultural Operations
A lot of farm and ranch owners across Western Colorado assume their standard homeowners or commercial property policy has them covered. Until something goes wrong and they find out it doesn’t.
Agricultural operations have risks that simply aren’t covered under generic commercial policies:
Crop loss
From hail, drought, frost, or disease isn’t covered by standard property insurance
Livestock
Cattle, dairy, poultry or sheep require dedicated livestock coverage for losses from accidents, disease, or natural disasters
Farm equipment
Tractors, combines, irrigation systems — needs specific scheduled coverage, not just a general property endorsement
Outbuildings
Barns, silos, packing sheds and storage structures often sit outside standard policy limits
Fencing
Frequently excluded from basic farm policies entirely; needs a specific rider if your operation depends on it
Agritourism liability
If you run a you-pick orchard, farm stand, winery tasting room, or any public-facing activity on your property, you need dedicated premises and product liability

Agribusiness Coverage Breakdown

Rather than buying individual policies separately, we can package all the core coverages your operation needs into a single Agribusiness Multicover Portfolio. This is typically more cost-effective and easier to manage: one policy, one renewal, no gaps between coverages.
The foundation of any agricultural insurance programme. Covers farm buildings, barns, silos, packing sheds, and other structures against fire, weather damage, and theft. Also covers farm personal property (livestock, feed, machinery, and equipment), plus your farm dwelling and any employee or rental housing on the property. Standard homeowners policies don’t extend to agricultural use; a dedicated farm and ranch policy does.
Provides an additional layer of liability protection above your primary farm and auto policies. For agricultural operations with significant assets (land, equipment, structures, livestock) an umbrella policy is one of the most cost-effective ways to protect against a large or unexpected claim.
Covers trucks, farm vehicles, and other autos used on and off the farm. Your personal auto policy won’t cover vehicles used for agricultural or business purposes. Dedicated farm and commercial vehicle coverage fills that gap. We cover everything from a single work truck to a full fleet of farm vehicles.
If you have farm workers, offering employee benefits can help with recruitment and retention. We can help you find group coverage options suited to the size and structure of your agricultural workforce.
Required by Colorado law for any agricultural operation with one or more employees. Covers medical costs, rehabilitation, and lost wages for farmworkers injured on the job. Construction-style rules apply on agricultural job sites. Every person performing work must be covered or have a formal rejection of coverage on file.
